What I Know is, it's time for a Tuesday Tune

So this is Parachute...and let me just say I LOVE this band. I have been blessed to see them live 4 times so far and out of the 150+ bands I have seen, they are easily in the top 3. SO good. And you know I gotta say it, SO hot...and SO nice. I've met and talked with them a few times. Amazing guys, AMAZING music.

Ooo la la.

I know I say this every week, but this song needs to be listened to loudly.  And preferably in the car.  Isn't there just something about listening to music with tthe volume up and the window down while you drive?
I wouldn't recommend the window being down here in the middle of winter.  Even though here in PA it is a lot warmer than normal...still...you might want to wait till spring for the window down thing.  But you can still go get this song, and play it nice and loud in your car.

Press Play. Listen. Repeat.

Being Able to Laugh

Last night my sister and I were sitting getting ready to watch some Avonlea (LOVE this show, more on that later) and we started joking around about the year that was 2011. We both had quite a difficult year (more on that later too) and we started coming up with two word sentences to describe it.
Here's what we came up with for my year:

You will notice that I was not just majorly tested, I was even more richly blessed.  All of the bad came from one experience, but it was the most signifigant experience of my life. The short version is: I was friends with a boy for several years, and we dated each other on and off in that time.  Then we ended up writing each other on his 2 year mission, and decided to be together when he got back. Well,  after months of dating when he returned home, it ended. I didn't see it coming. And I was devestated.
But you know what? When my sister and I were making up my list, we laughed and laughed till we cried.  To say that was a 'big deal' is in no way giving it the credit it needs.  I have wanted for months to be able to look back on that chapter of my life and to just...laugh.  To not just see it as such a horrible, painful experience.  And I am SO grateful I am able to be able to see the good that has come from this, which I didn't know was possible.
I am SO blessed.  My compassion and understanding has grown in leaps and bounds.  My testimony and understanding of the Atonement and it's importance is so much more profound and deep in my heart. I could not have grown in this way if it were not for this experience, and for my Savior helping me to get through it.

And now, I can look back and laugh.  And that blessing, is more than I could have ever asked for in 2011.

They see me rollin', they hatin'...

I have no idea why, but that one line from that song runs through my head at least once a day, usually, when I am doing something extra cool ;)  ha. And this, my friends, is extra cool.

I fell in love recently.  It wasn't expected, after falling in love just a little bit ago. But it has happened yet again, this time, with something I know I can't have.... yet.

Oh, iphone.  I know how I have hated on you so much because I have my oldschool Cingular BlackJack, which has been my love for 4 and half years now, even after I breaking up with it for 2 years.  I know everyone else in the world and their brother seem to love you too, I know I keep making you wait, and I know I'm broke and I have little to offer you, but I still want you.

Believe me, this is just as shocking to me as it is to you.  I said I would never want you, and yet, here we are.

Anyone know any good deals?
Haha.

"So wear me like a locket around your throat"

Ok, to start off....what is up with most jewelry cabinets?????????You know the ones, most of the time they are wooden with little glass doors. I don't know about you, but like 95% of the necklaces I wear are WAY too long for those things.  And so if I ever try to be organized and put hang my necklaces in there are nicely, they get all tangled because they just hang together at the bottom.
BUT, sometimes, inspiration strikes, and problems can be solved! Insert this nifty little idea I cam up with a few months ago when cleaning up my room. So many necklaces, I tell you! So many tangles!
But no more! Here we go:

It is so nice, I think they actually make a pretty decoration.
They are organized.
They don't get tangled.
Easy Access.

Seriously, one of the best ideas I have ever had.  I happened to have this shelf kinda laying around my house, so it was very convenient. But these things are really cheap and you can get them at a lot of craft stores like AC Moore, Michaels, even Wal Mart, etc.  And they usually come unfinished, so you can add your own flare by painting them any color you want.  My room is a deep red, with white and black furniture/accessories, so this fit right in.

It's Tuesday, have a Tune

Dude, everytime I go to pick a song for Tunes for Tuesday, I seriously have the hardest time narrowing it down to just one.  And this is only a few weeks into my blog. haha.

This week, I am playing it a little more serious. We have one of my ALL TIME favorite songs, ever. The CD came out a few years ago and I have had this song on repeat every since. It has been the source of much dancing and singing, very loudly, mostly in the car on trips. And for the past few months, it has also been a source of seriously being able to relate to lyrics I never really wanted to, but now do. You see, back on what I now refer to as "That Fateful Night In October," I got my heart broken, by a boy who was my best friend. So this song, now has an extra special place in my heart.
Press play, turn up the volume, and enjoy "Too Much" by All Time Low.

My lungs hurt, but my eyes are happy:)

So I have been on my deathbed coughing, achey, and icky for 4 days now. Ok, not really, but sometimes it feels like it. The flu is no fun. Maybe its bronchitis. I'll never know because I have an aversion to doctors. haha. But oh sweet Nyquil, thank goodness I can get some sleep because of you.

And thank you Tom Welling, for entertaining me and my eyes with your beautiful, beautiful face and tearing at my heartstrings and nerves via Smallville Season 4.  Seriously, I went through a whole disc last night alone.  Can you blame me?  I think not.

I guess I have to try to pace myself because Smallville just ended and that means I only have 6 seasons left to watch.   Nooooooooooooooooooo!!!!

My New Best Friend

I, Miss Kenzie, have a new best friend.  And this, is the start of a beautiful friendship. Maybe more ;)

Meet Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Candy Apple.

Seriously, I saw this baby from across the isle and it was love at first sight.  I thought I was looking for something else, like a heavy, thicker red lip stick.  But little did I know then that beauty could be offered WITH benefits. Yes, this is currently a friends with benefits relationship, but before long, we will be in love, I am sure.
See, this friend is awesome because it does what it says.  And it is OH so prettiful!! And it makes me feel prettiful too, and it makes my lips so soft and shiny! Because its lip butter and made to hydrate your lips.
If anyone wants to see where they can hook up with this hottie, or one of his friends, go here.

Note: I am not being paid to speak about this product at all, it is my own opionion, coming from my complete love for red lips and random posts.

The Sock Bun Adventure, part 1

A few days ago I mentioned in that I was going to try out the sock bun curl method.  And I actually did.

This is how it started:

Pardon me trying to turn around awkwardly to to to get these shots with my webcam instead of not being lazy and taking it with my camera and tripod. It was late. And I was lazy.  And also, please pardon my messy room.  I have no excuses. :)

And this is what it looked like upon waking up:

And this is after I took it down and added a bit of mousse for hold, and voila:

Sock bun curls!I'd say my first attepmt went pretty well. It's a great video and I TOTALLY recommend trying it! Why?
1. It is REALLY quick.
2. It is REALLY easy.
3. It saves time.
4. It saves your hair from SO much damage from heat styling with curlers, dryers, etc.

And who doesn't like, quick, easy, tricks that equal prettiful hair and even prettiful-er hair over time that is not dry and heat damaged?

And a helpful hint:
Make sure you put the bun up really high, like on the very top of your head, with a hair tie that's not too tight, or you will get some kinks you might have to flat iron out (which defeats the no heat purpose).

If anyone is interested in trying it out, all you need is a sock and a hair tie. And to check out this video to learn how.

I get by with a little help from....not this state!

Oh boy.  They say that there is "opposition in all things". I am here to tell you, TRUE DAT! Why does everything have to be so complicated?
For example: if you buy a car in another state, its a big stinking deal to register it for your own state. Is it just me or should you just be able to walk into the notary place with the title with YOUR name on it and proof of insurance and they check things and BAM they give you your state's stickers.
Not that simple my friends, not that simple.  If you have all this stuff, they can still decide you need other forms and you have to get in contact with the dealer to overnight them to you because your temp tags expire in a matter of a few days because somebody was a procrastinator (oops, that was me).
Boy oh boy, what happened to the days were you could plop down your money, get the car, and its yours and it doesnt matter where you take it? I wasn't alive for them, but I am pretty sure they existed.

BUT on the bright side, after years of hoping and dreaming and praying (haha) I was finally able to get my car. Meet Kamrada, the Camry.
And he is now inspected and registered and even wonderfuler!

And I may or may not have named him after this smokin' hot hunka hunka burnin' love, aka the best drummer my eyes have ever been blessed to hear and see, Chris Kamrada:

And yes, I am pretty sure you could ice skate across those big, beautiful, smooth lips.  Just sayin' :)

Tunes For Tuesday!

So, as a very wise woman once said "music makes the people come together, yeah!" Ok, who am I kidding, I wouldn't exactly call Madonna wise, but that lyric is the very first that popped into my head when I decided to start sharing some tunes I am obsessed with every Tuesday.
To kick it off, here is one that I have been absolutely obsessed with shakin' my booty to while getting ready and driving lately. So catchy! And let's take a moment to appreciate Katie White's style, it's the bomb.com. Yup. Enjoy, and yes, feel free to shake your booty too:)

is it dangerous to wear heaphones when your hair is wet?

Seriously though, I am wondering this right now.  Because, if that is the case, I am in danger.  Wet hair, jammin to the backstreet boys (oh yeah, I said it) through my new hello kitty headphones....not just ear buds, we're talking these babies:

PRECIOUS! haha. my momma knows me so well (thanks mom!).
If I survive this, I am going to attempt curling my hair via the "Sock Bun Method." Anyone seen it? I have heard good things! Well, wish me luck. (In staying alive, non-electricuted, and with not waking up with poodle hair.)
